| Drexel Campus Dining’s Sustainable Efforts |
| |
- Drexel Campus Dining currently sources food from more than 12 local farms/producers throughout the year, accounting for approximately 6% of total food purchases.
- 100% of our milk is from local dairy cows.
- We use cage free eggs in all locations across campus.
- 100% of our used cooking oil is recycled for bio-fuel. In 2010, 1,683 gallons of grease were recycled into Biodiesel. The CO2 offset is equal to diverting 5.43 tons of trash from the landfill.
- We eliminated individual bottles of condiments from each dining table, and now use bulk dispensers to significantly reduce plastic waste.
- The napkins in the Handschumacher Dining Center are made from recycled material.
- We implemented the Ecolab Apex™ Dishwashing System which combines technology and products designed to save water and energy, and minimize the impact of products on the environment.
- We recycle as much as possible!
